Reinhard Klimmt
Classification through
Reinhard Klimmt, born on August 16, 1942, in Berlin, is a German politician (SPD) and historian. He served as Minister-President of Saarland from 1998 to 1999 and as Federal Minister for Transport, Building, and Urban Development from 1999 to 2000.
On November 9, 2024, he gave an introduction and contextualization of the film “Die Ermittlung” at Villa Lessing in Saarbrücken. In addition to his political career, Klimmt is also active as an author and has published several non-fiction books.

Our mission is to preserve the memory of the crimes of National Socialism, and particularly the Holocaust, in times of forgetting, thereby contributing to ensuring that the right lessons are drawn for today's society and future generations. Education is the key to developing an understanding of connections and gaining true insights that guide our actions. Knowledge dissemination and education are the guarantors against antisemitism, racism, and xenophobia. Education begins in schools but does not end there. It must remain constant—for example, in companies, associations, sports, and faith communities.

Making of
After an intensive four-week rehearsal period, 60 actors brought Peter Weiss's text to life for the big screen. Over the course of five days, the individual cantos were filmed at Studio Berlin Adlershof using a sophisticated visual concept, captured in a single take with a total of eight cameras.
